• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (approximately 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Schedule: 3 to 4 shifts per week; every other weekend
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550 - $1,660
• Charting System: Cerner
• Setting: Acute care hospital, Level I Trauma, Magnet facility

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Active Illinois RRT license required
• BLS certification required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Experience in adult critical care and the emergency department preferred
• Strong airway management, oxygen therapy, nebulizer, and ventilator management skills
• Cerner experience required
• Ability to work every other weekend and provide as-needed on-call support
• Flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care to adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients across a fast-paced hospital setting
• Perform airway management procedures including suctioning, extubation support, and intubation assistance
• Provide oxygen therapy and ventilator support using specialized equipment and clinical protocols
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and wean patients from mechanical ventilation as clinically indicated
• Support bedside bronchoscopies and other advanced respiratory therapy procedures
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
• Adapt to changing patient volumes and staffing needs while maintaining high-quality patient care
