Experienced Sterile Processing Technician needed for a travel assignment in Columbus, OH, in a fast-paced Level I trauma hospital near a major academic and medical district. Job Details

• Setting: Hospital-based Sterile Processing Department (SPD)
• Employment Type: Travel assignment
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 8-hour nights
• Shift Schedule: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM with rotating weekends and occasional holidays
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,080 - $1,160
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Work Environment: High-volume, Level I trauma hospital with multiple reprocessing sites

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of sterile processing experience required
• CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA/IAHCSMM) certification accepted
• Experience with Medivator required
• Experience with Censitrac tracking system preferred
• Strong background in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and sterile storage
• Experience with HLD/scope reprocessing, OR liaison support, and instrument tray management
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced trauma environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and infection prevention

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate surgical instruments and medical equipment, including scopes and specialty items
• Assemble instrument trays across multiple service lines, including trauma and loaner sets
• Perform sterilization using steam and Sterrad processes
• Process and reprocess scopes using high-level disinfection (HLD) protocols
• Maintain sterile storage areas and ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of equipment
• Serve as a liaison between the operating room and sterile processing teams as needed
• Track, allocate, and standardize instrumentation across multiple locations
• Support safe, efficient reuse of instruments and supplies to help prevent healthcare-associated infections
