Job description

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Sussex County, DE | Full-Time

Looking for an SLP role where you can spend more time focused on your patients and less time chasing aggressive productivity numbers?

We’re hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to join an in-house rehabilitation team within a nonprofit senior living community in Seaford, DE.

This role works primarily with a geriatric population, treating a mix of swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive needs. Because therapy is provided in-house within a Continuing Care Retirement Community, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your residents and follow them across different levels of care.

What Makes This Role Different

  • Monday–Friday, full-time schedule
  • 75% productivity expectation
  • No mandated group therapy
  • In-house rehab — not a contract therapy company
  • Strong focus on dysphagia and geriatric care
  • Opportunity to follow residents across the continuum of care
  • Clinically driven, patient-centered treatment decisions
  • Supportive interdisciplinary rehab team
  • Paid onsite training with CEU-eligible opportunities
  • Nonprofit organization with potential Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate and treat dysphagia/swallowing disorders
  • Provide speech, language, and cognitive-communication evaluations and treatment
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on each resident’s needs
  • Treat geriatric residents with diagnoses such as dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions
  • Recommend swallowing strategies, diet modifications, and safety interventions when clinically appropriate
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on swallowing and communication strategies
  • Collaborate closely with nursing, dietary, PT, OT, physicians, and other members of the care team
  • Complete evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge documentation
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
  • Help residents maintain their highest possible level of communication, independence, and quality of life

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Active Delaware SLP license or eligibility for Delaware licensure
  • Experience with geriatric and dysphagia populations preferred
  • Skilled Nursing and/or outpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
  • CCC-SLP required; Clinical Fellowship candidates are not being considered

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • 401(k) with 4% company match after one year
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Professional development and CEU opportunities
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Potential Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility

If you’re a CCC-SLP looking for a more patient-centered environment with realistic productivity expectations, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to build relationships with the people you treat, we’d love to connect.
