• Duration: Approximately 13 weeks, with scheduled coverage through January 23, 2027
• Shifts per Week: Approximately 2
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• November 2026 Schedule: November 1, 15, and 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; November 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Patient Volume: Approximately 30-50 patients per day, with increased volume possible during cold and flu season
• Practice Model: Independent on-site practice with support from a remotely available supervising physician

Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Requirements

• Current Family Nurse Practitioner certification or Physician Assistant certification
• Active North Carolina license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• At least 1 year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, or a comparable clinical setting
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to practice independently
• Excellent communication, teamwork, documentation, and patient service skills
• DOT certification is a plus

Urgent Care Provider Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries
• Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, and wound care
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe appropriate medications and provide clear patient education
• Recognize conditions requiring escalation or referral and coordinate follow-up care
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with clinic staff to support efficient operations and a positive patient experience
• Provide safe, high-quality care while managing a steady urgent care patient volume
