Join our healthcare team as a PRN Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant providing on-site urgent care in Wallace, North Carolina. This 13-week advanced practice provider opportunity is ideal for a confident clinician who enjoys independent practice, broad patient care, and serving a welcoming southeastern North Carolina community with convenient access to coastal recreation. You will evaluate and treat a diverse urgent care patient population with support from a remote supervising physician.

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,260–$3,870
• Schedule: Approximately 2 shifts per week; 12-hour day shifts
• November Availability: November 1, 15, and 22 from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; November 2, 6, 10, 12, 14, 18, 20, 27, and 28 from 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; November 25 from 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Patient Volume: Approximately 30–50 patients per day, with higher volume possible during cold and flu season
• Practice Model: Independent provider coverage with access to a remote supervising physician

FNP and Physician Assistant Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, or a comparable outpatient setting
• Current North Carolina licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current FNP-C or PA-C certification
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to practice independently
• Excellent communication, teamwork, clinical documentation, and patient service skills
• DOT certification is a plus

Urgent Care Provider Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, and wound care
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing
• Prescribe appropriate medications and provide clear patient education
• Recognize conditions requiring escalation or referral and coordinate follow-up care
• Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record
• Manage patient flow and deliver efficient, compassionate care in a high-volume urgent care environment
• Collaborate with clinic staff and the remote supervising physician to support safe, high-quality patient care
