PRN Urgent Care Job Details

• Location: Mocksville, North Carolina

• Opportunity Duration: Approximately 13 weeks, beginning November 1, 2026
• Coverage Dates: November 21, 2026: 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; November 22, 2026: 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; November 25, 2026: 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Schedule: Approximately 2 shifts per week and 24 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, with some scheduled shifts varying by coverage needs
• Practice Model: Independent practice with access to a remotely supervising physician
• Patient Volume: Approximately 30–50 patients per day, with increased volume possible during cold and flu season
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,260–$3,870

Family Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Requirements

• Current North Carolina licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• At least 1 year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, primary care, or a closely related healthcare setting
• Current FNP-C or PA-C certification
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to practice independently
• Excellent communication, teamwork, documentation, and patient-service skills
• DOT certification is a plus

Urgent Care Provider Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
• Perform common urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, abscess drainage, splinting, and wound care
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic testing
• Prescribe appropriate medications and provide clear patient education
• Recognize conditions requiring escalation or referral and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with clinical and support staff to promote efficient operations and a positive patient experience
