Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg, Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Contract

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Location: Fort Myers, Florida
• Start Date: January 15, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending April 17, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,920
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4–6 patients per RN
• Charting System: Epic
• Openings: 2

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Florida
• At least 2 years of combined Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Progressive Care Unit experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to float as needed to Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care, Emergency Department hold, and other affiliated hospital units
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Degree from an accredited nursing program or equivalent professional experience
• Professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to function effectively as an integral member of the core nursing team

Med/Surg and Progressive Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care patients on the night shift
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and initiate timely nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Manage patients with complex medical and general-surgery needs in accordance with established standards of care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and fellow nurses to coordinate individualized care plans
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic
• Maintain safe patient ratios and prioritize care across a dynamic acute-care environment
• Float to designated units and affiliated campuses when operational needs require, delivering the same high standard of care in each setting
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and continuity of care
