Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Assignment Type: 13-week NICU travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Unit: 31-bed acute-care Level 2 NICU/Level 2 nursery
• Patient Assignment: Approximately 1:1 or 1:2 ratios
• Technology: EPIC charting and Pyxis medication administration
• Additional Scheduling Requirement: Mandatory orientation attendance is required for all seven scheduled orientation days.

NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Level III NICU nursing experience
• Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to critically ill and medically complex newborns
• Willingness to float to age-appropriate pediatric or PICU assignments when needed
• Ability to meet the physical and clinical demands of an acute-care nursing environment

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically fragile newborns
• Assess neonatal conditions, recognize changes in patient status, and promptly communicate concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with provider orders and unit protocols
• Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, feeding tolerance, fluid balance, and overall clinical progress
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of the neonatal care team
• Educate and support parents and caregivers throughout the infant’s hospitalization
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC
• Maintain a safe, organized, and family-centered care environment
• Float to age-appropriate pediatric or PICU assignments as directed and within competency
