Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to care for adult patients with varied medical and surgical needs
• Strong cardiac monitoring, clinical assessment, and patient-prioritization skills
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week and float between medical-surgical and telemetry assignments as needed
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain it before the assignment begins
• Reliable communication, teamwork, and electronic medical record documentation skills

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on medical-surgical and telemetry units
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Complete focused and comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Recognize and promptly escalate signs of deterioration or emergent clinical needs
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Float between medical-surgical and telemetry areas while maintaining high standards of safe, compassionate patient care
