Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Antioch, California
• Assignment Type: 13-week Telemetry RN travel contract
• Start Date: November 17, 2026
• End Date: February 16, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,190–$2,310
• Unit: Post-Surgical Unit with telemetry and medical-surgical patients
• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. (36 hours per week)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: As needed
• Floating: May float to other telemetry or medical-surgical units based on operational needs

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent registered nursing experience, including telemetry nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• EKG interpretation experience is required
• Demonstrated ability to care for telemetry patients and recognize and respond to cardiac rhythm changes
• Experience administering IV cardiac medications and managing heparin and insulin infusions

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Assess cardiac rhythms, identify changes, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer and monitor IV cardiac medications, including infusions such as amiodarone and diltiazem, according to orders and policy.
• Manage heparin, insulin, and other clinically indicated drips while monitoring patient response.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Coordinate care with providers and the interdisciplinary team to promote safe, effective patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, safety, and self-care.
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination accurately and timely.
• Float to telemetry or medical-surgical units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care.
