Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580-$1,700
• Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
• Position: Operating Room Surgical Technologist / Surgical Tech
• Assignment Type: Travel healthcare assignment
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 15, 2026
• End Date: January 14, 2027
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Call: Rotating call coverage from 7:00 a.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. Monday, with a 15-minute response time required

Operating Room Surgical Technologist Requirements

• At least 1 year of operating room or surgical technology experience
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, surgical supplies, and operating room procedures
• Exceptional accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to participate in rotating weekend call and meet the required response time

Travel Surgical Tech Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions for procedures
• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment throughout each case
• Pass instruments, fluids, supplies, and other equipment to the surgeon during procedures
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulating team member
• Assist with gowning, gloving, patient positioning, and patient transfers
• Operate and document use of steam sterilization equipment
• Manage surgical specimens according to established procedures
• Turn over operating rooms between cases and keep surgical areas organized
• Maintain suture carts, monitor expiration dates, and stock supplies for scheduled procedures
• Provide support during on-call coverage and perform other duties as assigned
