Travel Nurse Job Details

• Scheduling Note: Travelers must be available to work at least every other holiday during the assignment.

Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent combined permanent experience in Med/Surg Tele or a closely related specialty
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale certification completed before the start date
• Recent experience with Epic electronic medical records
• One recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty
• Active required certifications must be in hand before submission
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
• Ability to complete required pre-start compliance documentation, screening, and learning modules

Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a cardiac step-down environment.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and promptly communicate significant findings.
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols.
• Complete comprehensive assessments, care plans, documentation, and patient education using Epic.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized patient care.
• Support transitions of care through discharge planning, health education, and communication with patients and families.
• Maintain professional standards, infection-prevention practices, and a patient-centered approach throughout each shift.
