Travel Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech) – Cardiothoracic Operating Room Contract in Everett, WA

Travel CVOR Tech Job Details

• Assignment Type: 13-week travel surgical technologist contract
• Location: Everett, Washington
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950–$2,100
• Schedule: 4 shifts per week; 10-hour day shifts, typically 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Call Requirement: At least 10 call shifts per month; call coverage may occur between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: 1–2 weekends per month
• Clinical Setting: Level II trauma center with approximately 18 operating rooms and an average surgical case volume of 55 per day
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatric patients; adolescent experience is preferred
• Charting System: EPIC
• Float Expectations: May float to the general OR; no routine float between unrelated units
• Travelers: First-time travelers are welcome

CVOR Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of surgical technologist experience; 2 years is preferred
• Current Washington state registration or an active compact license in hand at submission
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NBSTSA certification preferred
• Demonstrated experience with cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, general surgery, and laparoscopic procedures
• Experience performing a singular scrub for cardiothoracic cases
• Ability to provide at least 10 call shifts per month and work 1–2 weekends per month
• Strong adaptability, teamwork, and willingness to learn and assist across surgical specialties

Travel Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Scrub and support cardiothoracic procedures, including CABG, valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, minimally invasive valve procedures, VATS, mediastinoscopy, and robotic thoracic surgery
• Support cardiovascular procedures involving carotid cutdowns, central venous access, and laser lead standby
• Assist with general and laparoscopic operating room cases as needed
• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, supplies, case carts, and equipment according to surgical specifications
• Maintain strict aseptic technique, universal protocol, sharps safety, and accurate specimen handling
• Provide flexible endoscope reprocessing support, including bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, and EBUS equipment when needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia professionals, and the broader perioperative team to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Participate in scheduled call and weekend coverage while maintaining readiness for urgent surgical cases
