Hospital Food Service Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $560–$600
• Location: Akron, Ohio 44307
• Healthcare Setting: Onsite hospital dietary services and food service kitchen
• Schedule: Day shift, 5 shifts per week; 8-hour shifts from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 32 weeks, scheduled through June 21, 2027
• Openings: 2
• Orientation: 4 hours
• Opportunity: Contract assignment with potential for a permanent hospital food service opportunity

Food Service Worker and Line Cook Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of relevant food service, healthcare food service, or line cook experience
• Previous line cook experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospital kitchen environment
• Ability to follow recipes, preparation instructions, and hospital food safety standards
• Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures
• Ability to work scheduled early morning day shifts and every other weekend
• Strong teamwork, organization, and time-management skills
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions considered according to site requirements

Hospital Kitchen Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary service standards
• Perform line cook duties efficiently while maintaining consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation
• Support meal preparation and food service in a busy hospital kitchen
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
• Follow all applicable food handling, sanitation, infection-control, and workplace safety procedures
• Work collaboratively with the hospital dietary services and food service team to meet meal service timelines
• Manage multiple kitchen tasks effectively while working under pressure
