Travel Operating Room Technician Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,630–$1,750
• Location: Davenport, Iowa
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital operating room and surgical services
• Employment Type: Travel contract
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 31, 2027
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Shift: Day shifts with variable start times between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Coverage: One call day per week and every fourth weekend

Operating Room Technician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as an Operating Room Technician, Surgical Technician, Surgical Technologist, or Surgical Tech
• Recent operating room experience in a hospital or surgical setting
• Current Surgical Technician or Surgical Technologist certification, or an equivalent credential
• Ability to work four 10-hour day shifts and participate in the required call rotation
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative safety practices
• Required license and certification verification prior to starting the travel assignment

Operating Room Technician Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments for scheduled procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and help ensure compliance with perioperative safety standards
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies during procedures
• Assist with surgical counts, specimen handling, room turnover, and post-procedure cleanup
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other members of the perioperative team
• Support efficient patient flow and operating room readiness throughout the surgical schedule
• Participate in scheduled call coverage, including one call day each week and every fourth weekend
