Med/Surg Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of combined permanent Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand; pending certifications are not accepted
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty, preferably from an assignment completed within the past 12 months
• Ability to complete required screening, background verification, orientation assessments, and pre-start learning modules
• Willingness to complete ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments during orientation

Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and patient conditions, identify changes promptly, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards and provider orders
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
• Support care coordination, patient education, discharge planning, and transitions of care
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to unit and organizational policies
• Participate in orientation activities, competency validation, and required annual education when applicable
