Operating Room Surgical Technologist Requirements

• Operating room surgical technologist or OR Tech experience
• Previous Surgical First Assist experience required
• Orthopedic surgery experience required
• Current certification as an operating room surgical technician
• Current CPR certification
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures
• Ability to participate in rotating call coverage, including weekend call

Operating Room Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures
• Provide scrub and first-assist support during orthopedic and other surgical cases
• Maintain a sterile field and support strict infection prevention practices
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the perioperative team throughout surgical procedures
• Handle surgical instruments and supplies safely and efficiently
• Assist with operating room turnover, equipment readiness, and inventory management
• Participate in rotating call coverage and respond to urgent surgical needs as assigned
