Travel Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Professional nursing experience in a Level II Labor & Delivery setting
- Experience attending deliveries and providing newborn resuscitation support
- Experience providing couplet care to parents and newborns
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Epic electronic health record documentation experience preferred
- Ability to work scheduled 12-hour night shifts throughout the travel assignment
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly communicate changes to the care team
- Assist with and attend deliveries according to Labor & Delivery unit protocols
- Support newborn stabilization and resuscitation efforts when needed
- Deliver safe, compassionate couplet care for parents and newborns
- Administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and document patient care accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote positive maternal and newborn outcomes
