Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent professional nursing experience, preferably in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or cardiovascular procedural setting
• Demonstrated knowledge of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
• Ability to safely prepare patients, procedural areas, and specialized cardiac catheterization equipment
• Strong patient assessment, communication, collaboration, and patient-safety skills
• Availability to work scheduled day shifts and participate in required after-hours, weekend, and holiday call coverage

Cardiac Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Provide skilled Registered Nurse care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
• Assess patients, verify procedure readiness, and identify changes in patient condition
• Prepare patients and equipment for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
• Operate and assist with specialized imaging and procedural systems within the RN scope of practice
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond promptly to clinical changes
• Collaborate with physicians, procedural staff, and the broader healthcare team to promote safe, efficient cardiovascular care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold infection prevention and patient-safety standards
• Provide appropriate nursing support during after-hours, weekend, and holiday call assignments
