Oncology RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or a compact state
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; oncology or outpatient infusion experience strongly preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
• Completion of required Pennsylvania fingerprinting and related compliance requirements
• Ability to safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other infusion therapies

Outpatient Oncology Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients receiving outpatient oncology treatments and infusion therapies
• Access and manage Mediports and perform PICC line dressing changes
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, PRBCs, subcutaneous injections, and intramuscular injections according to established protocols
• Monitor patients for treatment response, adverse reactions, and changes in clinical condition
• Perform Foley catheter insertion and removal as indicated
• Educate patients and families regarding cancer treatments, potential side effects, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, patient responses, and ongoing care plans
