Travel Nursing Job Details

• Healthcare Setting: On-site Medical-Surgical Telemetry float team
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Schedule: 36 hours per week, with the ability to accommodate a 48-hour work week
• Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend and alternating holidays
• Typical Patient Ratios: 1:5 to 1:6, with occasional 1:7 assignments

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
• Cerner experience preferred

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients
• Float among Medical-Surgical Telemetry areas based on patient census and unit needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and patient conditions, identify changes promptly, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and accurately document patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery, safety, and continuity of care
• Maintain safe staffing practices and deliver quality care within assigned patient ratios
