Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated experience caring for stroke patients
• Telemetry nursing experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to float between medical-surgical, telemetry, and combined MS/Tele units
• Strong adaptability and willingness to care for patients with orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, oncology, and general medical diagnoses
• Electronic health record experience, preferably with Cerner
• Previous travel nursing experience is welcome but not required

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in medical-surgical and telemetry settings
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias
• Assess and manage patients with stroke-related conditions and other complex medical diagnoses
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring patient responses
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate care team
• Float between MS, Tele, and MS/Tele units based on staffing and patient-care needs
• Collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams
• Complete accurate clinical documentation and participate in handoffs and interdisciplinary care planning
• Support a professional, respectful, and patient-centered care environment
