General Surgeon Job Requirements

• Physician degree (MD)
• Board certification in General Surgery required
• At least 1 year of General Surgery experience required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Demonstrated proficiency in adult General Surgery
• Experience with laparoscopic procedures, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Active medical licensure and eligibility to practice in Texas

General Surgery Physician Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage approximately 10 patient encounters per shift
• Provide comprehensive adult General Surgery consultation and treatment
• Perform required laparoscopic procedures, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty
• Provide perioperative care and collaborate with the multidisciplinary surgical team
• Support emergency and acute surgical needs within a Level III trauma environment
• Perform additional procedures based on experience and clinical need, with Nissen fundoplication, D&C, upper GI endoscopy, and colonoscopy experience preferred
