Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or comparable procedural setting
• Experience caring for patients before, during, and after invasive cardiac procedures
• Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 10-hour day shifts and support the needs of a fast-paced procedural department

Cardiac Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiovascular nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
• Complete pre-procedure assessments, verify clinical readiness, and prepare patients for cardiac interventions
• Monitor patients closely during procedures and recognize changes in condition promptly
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols and provider orders
• Deliver post-procedure care, including recovery monitoring, patient education, and discharge preparation
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, procedural staff, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold department standards for quality and patient safety
