Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• Respiratory therapy experience is welcomed but no minimum number of years is required
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential with active status through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Ability to work three 12-hour evening and night shifts each week
• Must meet applicable travel assignment residency requirements; local candidates within the designated 60-mile radius are not eligible
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective respiratory therapy services to hospitalized patients
• Assess patients and implement individualized respiratory care treatments based on clinical needs
• Monitor patient response to respiratory therapy and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary care team
• Support airway management, oxygen therapy, ventilator care, and other respiratory interventions within scope of practice
• Document patient assessments, respiratory treatments, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to promote quality patient care
• Respond professionally to urgent and emergent respiratory care needs
