Food Service Worker Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 6 months of related food service experience
• Food and nutrition services experience or training preferred
• Ability to work an active daytime schedule, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and workplace safety procedures
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift supplies as required in a hospital food service environment

Hospital Dietary Services Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, portion, and distribute patient meals and beverages according to established procedures
• Assist with meal tray delivery and collection for patients and hospital departments
• Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized food preparation, serving, and storage areas
• Follow food handling, temperature control, allergen awareness, and sanitation standards
• Restock supplies and monitor food service areas for adequate inventory
• Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, counters, carts, and work surfaces
• Provide courteous service while responding appropriately to routine patient and department requests
• Collaborate with dietary services staff to support efficient daily hospital food service operations
