Travel Sonographer Job Details

• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Schedule: Sunday, 12:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; Monday–Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
• Work Setting: On-site hospital ultrasound department
• Equipment: GE Logiq E10 and Samsung R20 ultrasound systems

Sonographer Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional sonography or ultrasound technologist experience
• Current professional sonographer certification or credential
• Demonstrated competency in general, vascular, and women’s health ultrasound examinations
• Ability to perform safely and effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong patient-care, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• Ability to meet applicable Massachusetts credentialing and travel assignment onboarding requirements
• NICU and operating room experience is a plus

Travel Sonographer Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to department protocols and professional standards
• Complete general imaging studies, including abdominal, small-parts, and obstetric/gynecologic examinations
• Perform vascular studies such as abdominal vasculature and lower-extremity deep vein thrombosis evaluations
• Conduct follicular monitoring examinations as assigned
• Obtain and document high-quality images and relevant clinical information for interpretation
• Provide compassionate patient care while explaining procedures and promoting comfort and safety
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, follow infection-prevention practices, and support efficient department operations
