Travel Med/Surg RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado
• At least 1 year of professional RN experience required
• Two years of relevant medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Experience providing care in an adult medical-surgical or acute care setting preferred
• Specialty certification in a relevant practice area preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire or within 6 months
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required upon hire or within 6 months
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in possible on-call coverage

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate care team members
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing colleagues, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, recovery, and discharge needs
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
• Support a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered inpatient care environment
