Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of registered nursing experience, preferably in oncology or medical-surgical nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and patient-education skills
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in an acute-care environment
• Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts and scheduled weekends

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients receiving treatment for oncology-related conditions
• Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in patient status, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Support symptom management, pain control, nutritional needs, mobility, and psychosocial well-being
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, disease management, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, nursing interventions, and patient responses in Allscripts
• Follow infection-prevention, patient-safety, quality, and professional nursing standards
