Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,970–$2,080
• Assignment Dates: November 30, 2026 – February 27, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Healthcare Setting: Adult medical-surgical stroke stepdown unit

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license; verification of all active RN licenses may be required
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Previous stroke stepdown or neurological nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required; certification may be completed before the start date
• Recent resume, specialty skills checklist, and required licensure and identity documentation
• Flexibility to float to other units as needed

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical stroke stepdown setting
• Assess and monitor patients experiencing stroke, altered mental status, renal conditions, dialysis needs, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, pulmonary conditions, and other medical-surgical diagnoses
• Manage patients requiring isolation precautions and complex care interventions
• Use and monitor specialty equipment, including IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes
• Recognize changes in neurological and overall patient status and communicate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Float to other appropriate units when requested and support continuity of care across the department
