- Call only coverage -- beeper call, 1:2 ratio
- 30-minute call response time required
- Inpatient practice setting
- 3 - 6 patients seen per shift; 1 admission per shift
- PAs take first call -- 1 - 2 phone consults per shift
- General CV/thoracic surgery, open and endoscopic procedures required
- Coronary artery bypass, on pump and off pump -- required
- Valvular repair/replacement, aneurysm repair, aorto-thoracic required
