Join a high-acuity acute care team as a Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse in Columbus, Ohio. This 13-week contract nursing opportunity offers on-site care in a brand-new 12-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients.

Work alongside a collaborative support team while providing medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to patients requiring cardiac monitoring and complex acute care services.

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
• Shift: Night shift, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend; approximately 3–4 weekend shifts per month
• Openings: 2
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4 for medical-surgical patients and 1:3 for PCU-level patients

Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in Ohio or an active compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Strong experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Availability for the required weekend rotation
• Annual influenza vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
• Two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader

Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Manage patients requiring telemetry, oxygen therapy, isolation precautions, and rapid response or code team support
• Provide care for patients with chest tubes using Emerson or PleurEvac systems
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs and manage PICC lines according to clinical standards
• Support patients experiencing substance withdrawal and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Communicate effectively with providers, therapy services, respiratory care, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other members of the care team
• Float to other appropriate units while maintaining quality, safety, and continuity of patient care
