MRI Technologist Job Details

• Location: St. Louis, Missouri
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930–$2,080
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 23, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday block schedule
• Call: Monday–Thursday call approximately every 3–4 weeks
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Imaging Setting: Hospital-based inpatient and outpatient MRI
• Orientation: 12 hours

Travel MRI Technologist Requirements

• At least 1 year of MRI Technologist experience
• ARRT(MR) certification
• Current BLS certification
• Experience in a Level I trauma setting required
• Proficiency with inpatient and outpatient MRI workflows
• Ability to participate in scheduled call coverage
• Experience with PACS and Siemens MRI systems preferred

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform safe, high-quality MRI examinations for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Complete brain MRI studies, including perfusion, functional MRI, spectroscopy, diffusion, and cerebrospinal fluid flow studies.
• Perform body, musculoskeletal, breast, breast biopsy, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and vascular MRI examinations.
• Prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with applicable protocols and MRI safety standards.
• Start peripheral IVs and properly position patients, select coils, and optimize imaging parameters.
• Perform image post-processing, including apparent diffusion coefficient mapping, subtraction, maximum intensity projection, and multiplanar reconstruction.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, nursing teams, and other imaging professionals to support timely patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and transmit quality images through PACS.
• Follow MRI safety, infection prevention, and hospital procedures while supporting a daily caseload of approximately 11 examinations per scanner.
