• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027
• Work Arrangement: On-site

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
• At least 1 year of professional RN experience
• Progressive Care Unit, Intermediate Care, or high-acuity Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Ability to safely care for both intermediate-care and medical-surgical patients
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, clinical judgment, and communication skills
• Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week

Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a range of medical and intermediate-care needs
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor cardiac, respiratory, and other relevant clinical status according to patient acuity
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely nursing documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
• Promote patient safety, comfort, dignity, and continuity of care throughout each shift
