Travel Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, Virginia 24501
• Assignment Type: 13-week CVOR travel assignment
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 16, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,260–$2,430
• Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
• Call Requirement: No more than three weekday call shifts and three weekend call shifts within a six-week schedule; approximately 2–3 weekends per month may be required
• Weekend Coverage: Saturday and Sunday coverage may include a 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. call shift and a 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. working shift
• Float Requirement: None
• Travel Requirement: Applicants residing within 60 miles of the assignment location are not eligible

CVOR Surgical Technologist Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent open-heart cardiovascular operating room experience in a similar setting
• Prior travel assignment experience
• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential or accepted equivalent
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active Virginia license or proof that the Virginia licensing application has been submitted
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination or an approved declination
• Ability to provide active CST and Virginia licensure documentation for credentialing
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved before accepting the assignment

CVOR Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the cardiovascular operating room for open-heart procedures
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the operative team throughout each procedure
• Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining a sterile field
• Support safe surgical workflow, including surgical counts, specimen handling, and operating room turnover
• Assist with weekday and weekend call coverage according to the assigned schedule
• Follow established infection prevention, patient safety, and perioperative surgical protocols
• Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the cardiovascular operating room team
