ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia
• Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Shift Duration: 12 hours per shift
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week when scheduled
• Assignment Dates: August 26, 2026 through August 26, 2027
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Scheduling Requirement: Work at least one shift per month to remain active in the per diem pool
• Orientation: Weekday availability, Monday through Friday, is required

ICU Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• At least 2 years of professional RN experience
• At least 1 year of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or critical care nursing experience
• Current clinical knowledge and competency in critical care nursing
• Must be a local clinician able to work on site in Virginia Beach
• Ability to attend weekday orientation and maintain the required per diem schedule

Critical Care Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, cardiac rhythms, and other clinical indicators
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Promote patient safety, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care throughout each shift
