Cath Lab Technician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent experience as a Cath Lab Technician, Cath Lab Tech, or Cardiovascular Technologist
• Current Cath Lab Technician certification or applicable professional credential
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work on-site in a hospital cardiac catheterization laboratory
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedure workflows, sterile technique, and patient safety practices
• Successful completion of required credential verification and onboarding documentation
• Ability to participate in scheduled weekend call coverage

Cath Lab Technician Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and the clinical team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Prepare the cath lab, cardiovascular equipment, supplies, and sterile fields before procedures
• Prepare, position, and support patients throughout procedures while maintaining comfort and safety
• Operate and assist with cardiac catheterization laboratory equipment according to established protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate relevant patient and procedure information to the healthcare team
• Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and help maintain a clean, organized, and procedure-ready environment
• Respond to scheduled weekend call assignments and support timely procedural readiness
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to promote high-quality cardiovascular patient care
