Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated experience caring for stroke patients
• Strong telemetry nursing experience, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience caring for medical-surgical patients with complex neurologic, cardiac, orthopedic, oncology, and diabetes-related conditions
• Ability to care for patients with cerebrovascular accident (CVA) and intracranial bleeds
• Cerner experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse, ICU/ED, ventilator management, or conscious sedation experience preferred
• Adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and willingness to float between appropriate units

Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in medical-surgical and telemetry settings
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient status, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Care for patients with stroke, intracranial bleeds, cardiac conditions, orthopedic concerns, oncology diagnoses, and diabetes
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, administer medications, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration, escalating concerns to appropriate interdisciplinary team members
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Float within the Registered Nurse scope of practice to support medical-surgical and telemetry units as needed
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and promote continuity of care during handoffs
• Support patient education, discharge planning, and a positive patient and family experience
