Respiratory Therapist Travel Job Details

• Location: Stevens Point, WI
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,930–$2,080
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Contract Dates: November 16, 2026–February 15, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, with variable days, mids, and nights
• Current Shift Need: 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, subject to orientation and applicable holiday or facility-closure exceptions
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Rotating weekends and holidays
• Float Expectations: Support may be needed throughout the hospital, including the emergency department, general care areas, and affiliated facilities in the surrounding area
• Call Responsibilities: May be placed on call during eligible low-census hours; a two-hour minimum applies when called back
• Dress Code: Clean scrubs in any color and closed-toe shoes; fragrance-free and smoke-free environment

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience; previous travel respiratory therapist experience preferred
• Recent NICU respiratory care experience required
• Associate degree or respiratory therapy certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Active Wisconsin respiratory care license
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Advanced NRP certification
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong adaptability, resilience, communication skills, and ability to manage changing clinical priorities
• Must be willing to work across patient care areas and affiliated locations as needed

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to patients across all age groups and levels of acuity
• Provide basic and critical care respiratory therapy services throughout the hospital
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and other respiratory support therapies
• Perform patient assessments and provide care using established Assess and Treat protocols
• Support emergency response activities, including Rapid Response and Code Blue events
• Provide respiratory therapy support in the emergency department, intensive care areas, general care units, and NICU
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other members of the care team to promote safe, effective patient outcomes
• Float between designated care areas and nearby affiliated facilities according to operational needs
