Travel Physical Therapy Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,030–$2,190
• Healthcare Setting: Home health
• Coverage Area: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and surrounding Hampton Roads communities
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
• End Date: December 28, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 13-week travel physical therapy assignment
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend/On-Call Requirement: None specified
• Travel Reimbursement: Mileage between patient visits is reimbursed
• Dress Code: Scrubs in any color

Physical Therapist Job Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent qualifying physical therapy degree
• Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of Virginia
• At least 1 year of professional physical therapy experience, including home health experience
• Ability to perform independent patient visits in a home-based care environment
• Strong clinical judgment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Flexible, dependable, and comfortable traveling throughout the assigned Virginia service area

Home Health Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations in patients’ homes
• Complete admissions, recertifications, discharges, routine visits, and patient reassessments
• Develop and update individualized physical therapy treatment plans based on patient goals and clinical needs
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, function, and independence
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches as appropriate
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, fall prevention, safety, mobility, and strategies for achieving functional goals
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with home health standards
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Manage a daily schedule of home visits while meeting productivity and quality expectations
