Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry or cardiovascular nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Previous experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and patient care
• Experience with Epic charting required
• Ability to care for patients with a 4:1 day ratio and 5:1 night ratio
• Comfortable floating as needed when census changes
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry and cardiovascular patients
• Monitor, interpret, and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac rhythms
• Care for patients recovering from MI, CABG, valve repair, thoracotomy, and vascular procedures
• Support post-operative and medically complex patients with respiratory and cardiac needs
• Administer IV therapies, manage feeding tubes, and provide wound care as needed
• Assist with chest tube care, hemodialysis-related management, and oxygen therapy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, effective patient outcomes
• Float to other appropriate care areas when needed based on census
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold unit standards of care
