• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Unit Environment: Adult acute care with telemetry and stepdown experience

Job Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience within the last 3 years
• Prior experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown nursing required
• Telemetry, cardiac, oncology, or med-surg/tele experience strongly preferred
• Experience with ventilator care and transplant patients required
• Experience in an academic Level I or Level II trauma center, or similarly sized hospital, required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable using Epic charting and electronic health records
• Ability to pass a telemetry competency assessment prior to start
• Ability to float as needed within similar acute care areas
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, communication, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with complex medical and surgical needs
• Monitor telemetry rhythms, interpret changes, and respond appropriately to patient status updates
• Care for patients with hemodynamic instability, multiple comorbidities, and high-acuity diagnoses
• Support patients with pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, and post-lung transplant care
• Manage ventilated patients and deliver skilled stepdown-level nursing interventions
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Administer treatments, medications, and procedures according to unit standards and patient needs
• Float as needed to comparable care areas to support unit needs
• Contribute to a team-based, patient-centered culture focused on quality, safety, and patient advocacy
