• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit RN)
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Schedule: 3 night shifts per week, 12 hours per shift
• Shift Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Float Requirement: Required to float to other units as needed within the organization
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Rotating weekends and holidays
• Start Date: 11/02/2026
• End Date: 02/01/2027

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing or progressive care experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with neuro stepdown, stroke care, and progressive care preferred
• Ability to manage patients with complex neurological diagnoses and med-surg overflow
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Strong communication, adaptability, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult PCU patients with stroke and other neurological conditions
• Monitor and assess patients for changes in neurological and medical status
• Administer and manage therapies such as TNK, heparin protocols, and post-TPA care
• Support patients recovering from craniotomy and other neurosurgical procedures
• Care for patients requiring lumbar drain management and close neurological observation
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and communicate effectively with the care team
• Follow isolation precautions, patient safety protocols, and evidence-based nursing practices
• Adapt to floating assignments and support unit needs as required
