Job Details

• Location: San Francisco, CA 94131
• Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays only; start time between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Assignment Length: 26 weeks
• Start Date: 10/17/2026
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $910 - $970
• Work Setting: Hospital-based animal husbandry, laboratory animal care, and facility operations

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of training equivalent to the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician certification of the AALAS
• At least 1 year of animal care experience required
• Ability to work independently and follow established laboratory animal care procedures
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness
• Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months preferred
• Teaching hospital or hospital-based animal care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize cages, enclosures, and related animal care areas
• Feed and water animals according to established schedules
• Monitor basic environmental conditions and report issues as needed
• Maintain accurate logs and support operational documentation
• Help keep the animal facility clean, safe, and well organized
• Support general animal husbandry and facility maintenance tasks
• Follow protocols carefully while contributing to a dependable team environment
