Overview

We are seeking a dependable Animal Technician / Laboratory Animal Technician with experience in animal care and husbandry and a strong commitment to quality care. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured research setting, adapts well to changing needs, and values being part of a professional team. Experience in ABSL-2 environments is a plus.

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Start Date: 10/14/2026
• Shift: Monday through Friday, starting between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $910-$970
• Location: San Francisco, CA 94131
• Setting: Academic research environment with potential coverage needs across related areas

Job Requirements

• Animal husbandry-related experience
• Experience in ABSL-2 environments is helpful
• Prior travel experience within the last 12 months required
• Prior teaching hospital experience preferred
• Ability to adapt to reassignment within related departments or facilities when needed
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to complete required pre-assignment compliance documentation and screenings
• COVID-19 vaccination with booster required; exemptions may apply per policy

Responsibilities

• Provide daily animal husbandry support in a research setting
• Assist with routine care, handling, and operational support for assigned animals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Support workflow needs and respond to changing operational priorities
• Follow site-specific procedures, safety standards, and compliance requirements
• Contribute to dependable day-to-day operations and high-quality care
