Job Specifics:

Location: Peoria, IL

This position involves caring for post-operative surgical patients, managing dressings, wound care, IV therapy including Heparin, and pain management. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 4-5 on days and 5-6 on nights, with structured orientation including preceptor shifts and EPIC system training. Please note, the role does not require titrating drips or operating ventilation equipment, but does require effective teamwork and bedside manner. Floating to similar units will be required, and the hospital operates 24/7 with house supervision. The unit also manages telemetry, with bedside RNs supported by monitor techs. Weekend and holiday shifts are required, but there is no call obligation. Scrubs are provided, and there is flexibility in uniform color. Candidate must hold an active Illinois license and have completed or initiated the application process prior to assignment.
