Travel Phlebotomy Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,150–$1,240
• Location: Rockford, Illinois
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital laboratory and ambulatory laboratory services

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through February 20, 2027
• Schedule: 10-hour day shifts; 40 guaranteed hours per week

Phlebotomist Technician Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, including hospital-based experience
• Phlebotomist Technician certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Demonstrated proficiency with difficult venipunctures and high-volume inpatient blood draws
• Ability to work day shifts and provide occasional weekend or holiday coverage
• Strong attention to detail, specimen-handling skills, and commitment to patient-centered care

Phlebotomy Technician Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from hospital and ambulatory laboratory patients
• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections, including difficult sticks
• Obtain blood cultures, PKU and newborn screening samples, and glucose tolerance testing specimens
• Collect and properly handle urine, throat, and MRSA specimens
• Verify patient identification, label specimens accurately, and follow collection and transport protocols
• Provide professional, compassionate service while maintaining patient safety and specimen integrity
• Collaborate with nursing and laboratory teams in a fast-paced hospital environment
