EKG and Telemetry Technician Job Details

• Location: Danville, Pennsylvania
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based centralized telemetry unit
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,360–$1,460
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Rotation: Rotating days; every other weekend and every other holiday
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 14, 2027
• Call: No call required

Telemetry Technician Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Telemetry Technician, Monitor Technician, EKG Technician, cardiac monitor technician, or in a related hospital setting; 2 years preferred
• Experience interpreting and monitoring cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
• Completion of a basic dysrhythmia course
• Ability to successfully complete the required dysrhythmia pre-test
• Monitor Technician certification or equivalent demonstrated competency
• Professional state licensure is not required for this role
• Ability to work rotating schedules, nights, every other weekend, and every other holiday

EKG/Telemetry Technician Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring for patients in a centralized telemetry unit
• Recognize and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms, EKG findings, and dysrhythmias
• Identify significant rhythm changes and promptly communicate findings to the clinical care team
• Maintain accurate telemetry documentation and cardiac monitoring records
• Respond appropriately to monitor alarms and escalate urgent or abnormal findings
• Support a safe, attentive environment for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to promote timely patient care
