Emergency Room Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or eligible multistate license
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• Completion of an approved six-hour suicide prevention training
• Successful verification of professional demographics through Nursys
• Strong emergency nursing knowledge, clinical judgment, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
• Meditech experience is helpful but not required
• Full availability for scheduling during the contract; requested time off must be approved in advance

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and acute conditions
• Perform focused assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing monitoring based on patient acuity
• Administer medications and treatments, initiate interventions, and evaluate patient responses
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment and disposition
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Support a positive and efficient Emergency Department environment through teamwork and clear communication
