Travel Nursing Job Details

• Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180-$2,290
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Rotating schedule consisting of two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts
• Shift Length: Rotating 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
• Day Shift Times: 12-hour shifts generally 6:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.; 8-hour shifts generally 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
• Additional Shifts: Afternoon and weekend shifts may be scheduled based on department needs
• Call Requirement: Approximately 8-12 hours of weekly call; travelers participate in call rotations and respond within 30 minutes
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC OpTime
• Orientation: Approximately 2-3 shifts covering both operating room areas and electronic documentation
• Scrubs: Provided

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in West Virginia
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; operating room or perioperative nursing experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to circulate independently in the operating room
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to take scheduled weekday, weekend, and applicable holiday call
• Ability to work rotating 8-hour and 12-hour shifts in a high-volume surgical environment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Circulate independently for a wide variety of surgical procedures and service lines
• Support orthopedic, spine, neurological, trauma, ENT, ophthalmology, bariatric, urology, gynecology, and surgical oncology procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, verify equipment and supplies, and promote a safe and efficient surgical environment
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
• Use EPIC OpTime to complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Participate in scheduled standby and emergency call coverage, responding within the required timeframe
• Float between assigned operating room areas as needed based on experience and department requirements
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, sterile technique, and hospital policies at all times
